Does Anyone Still Celebrate Monthsary?
One of the nuances of being in a relationship is keeping track of calendar events… the wholesome kind.
:gg:
For the record, I have never believed in celebrating a single Monthsary in my past relationships. However, the rest of the world seems to believe in it, promote it and celebrate it. The idea is that a couple celebrates anniversaries when they reach the first year, but have to give each other gifts and such every month on the same date. Example, If a girl and a guy hooked up during the first of January, they celebrate monthsary during the first day of the succeeding months until January comes again.
Benefits of a Celebrating a Monthsary
- It is an excuse to do something special at least once a month.
- It is romantic.
- The couple has something to look forward to, sort of like a Valentine’s day each month.

Disadvantages of Celebrating a Monthsary:
- It becomes a HUGE issue when someone forgets about it. It becomes another possible cause of a fight.
- Sooner or later the couple will tire of buying expensive gifts and going to fancy dinners every single month. With the worsening financial status of everyone we know, it’s pretty hard to spend a few hundred dollars a month for a hotel stay or a candle lit dinner.
Things you can do during your Monthsary
1. Start a Time Capsule – If you save a souvenir each month, you will have 12 items in your time capsule on your first year, 24 items on your second and so on. You can seal the time capsule when you get married or when you have your baby, then open the capsule during your 25th year anniversary as an old staid couple.
2. Home Spa – Massage each other with scented oils, each time concentrating on one part of the other’s body. Romantic and kinky, and very sweet.

Or, you can consider a system called Green Infrared Sauna from our advertisers at Nature Moms.

Monthsaries used to be a big deal to me and my past GFs, then I realized that anniversaries matter more. So monthsaries are like events that are there, but we don’t really celebrate them.

I like the rule about not celebrating monthsary after the first year! It really took off the pressure of thinking of gifts every single month.
Hi,
Having home spa is ultimate experience.A steam treatment is a sensuous experience that should leave you feeling relaxed.

My fiancee and i keep track of our monthsary but no fancy gifts or candle-lit dinners. just a white rose, as i love them so much. and if he forgets to give me one on the day. i wont let him get me the next day as the monthsary already expires. lol.instead, i will let him give me the next monthsary. so i get two white roses. but thats just it really.
is it possible that people celebrate their monthsary because they have the fear of not reaching a whole year in that relationship?
My girl and I are have been together for almost 8 years now. We’ve celebrated every monthsary since we’ve been together. First year was a bigger deal, but after that we basically just give each other something small, and I mean really small. Like a picture ID photo frame, something to dangle on your cellfone, little stuffed toys she can put on her headboard, and basically just a romantic dinner together, nothing too fancy. But yeah, I kinda got a bit lazy this month and was hoping for an idea for a small gift that’s why I came here lol. Anyways it’s not a big deal if you don’t celebrate it. Anniversaries are definitely more important. We just decided to do this every month to have something to look forward to and celebrate together.
I wish I could go back in time and put the person who created the idea of Monthsaries into a coma. This is the worst idea that I’m sure has ruined many relationships.
@Migz – 8 years?!! Wow…so thats 96 celebrations…yet your birthdate which is more significant I would think has only been celebrated 8 times in that time span…just makes you think I guess.
Back in college most of my classmates are busy with this one. Honestly I dont like the idea. With my past relationship we did celeberate it, but I agree that it is a common cause for us to have misunderstanding on a monthly basis (as frequent as the mothsary!)Im weak with dates so I tend to forget. There was even a time that I set my calendar alarm so I wont forget, initially it worked but i forgot to reset the alarm so we ended fighting again. With my present relationship, i was lucky enough to have found someone who does not regard monthsary as sacred like the others, because for him whats important is that he has me and I have him monthsary is just dates. Funny thing though, he greets me every 15th of each month…hehehe and it kinda made me feel so loved each time he does. “so much for not celebarating monthsary” hehehe…may be it has some significance after all.
