Does He Have to Have a Car?
One issue that I have dealt with over the years is my lack of automobile. For various reasons (no parking space, laziness, lack of priority etc), I have never really felt the urge to buy a car for myself. There’s the issue of gas, and how it eats up my budget; and also the issue of not being able to sleep at night knowing how my investment is just outside my place being ogled by thieves. Now that I have a son, however, I have been thinking about getting one; for the reason that he could need it someday to attract girls.

Sounds shallow? For sure. However, it is a fact that some girls would rather have boyfriends with cars than those who don’t (e.g. “How will he pick me up? He’s going to make me walk?!?“). The fact that my son got turned down by a girl because he didn’t have a car will always be at the back of my mind, no matter what reason the girl stated.
Some guys treat their automobiles like a girlfriend, or even an extension of their manhood. Lol, if it would make a difference in my son’s future social life, I will work my ass off just to get him that sordidly expensive car that could make or break his love proposals.

I made it one of my rules that I would only date guys that own cars after dating so many low-lifes without one. When I met my hubby I didn’t care what kind of car he drove..I just was happy to know I would never have to drive him to work
Now we share our car, our beloved mini-van, lol.

I am actually scared of guys with cars in the past. This stems from my previous (and possibly recurring) DISORDER of giving each guy the benefit of the doubt, whether he deserves it or not.
But yeah, it’s really convenient when you don’t have to walk a mile to go to a coffee shop.
I wouldn’t care if a guy owns a car, but he has to know how to drive one, that’s my rule. That is because my father and my brother are nuts about cars, and bringing home a boyfriend who can’t drive would be out of the question. :p I’m sure this is a status thing that varies from country to country, but where I dated, having a car or not would not be an issue at all.

Good for you sister! Some girls prefer to date guys with nicer model cars but I never understood why.
This is exactly why everything is so relative. As girls are shallow about choosing guys with obvious insurances / material of security — it’s only fair how guys can be shallow of choosing girls and getting rid of them if they don’t suffice the need. I know, i know, mysoginistic. But the door swings both ways.
