Channeling Your Inner Bond Girl
By
I was surfing around my favorite blogs when I came across this article over at gmtristan’s. It seems that a new bond girl will arrive through Olga Kurylenko, a Ukrainian actress/model, in the Bond release for 2008, tentatively called Quantum of Solace.
Bond girls are the main reason why I watch Bond movies, no matter how predictable the plot and how the character of James Bond never really acted the part (more of ‘modeled’ the look). Bond girls are the ones that make the film come alive. They are the strong, sultry damsels in distress, or the gorgeously sinister villains who make being evil seem so cool.

Why are Bond Girls hot?
I have always regarded the Bond girl persona as the epitome of a bad-ass, but adorably feminine woman… someone who understands the live-for-the-moment-because-I-might-die-anytime attitude of 007, and consciously submits herself to what could be the last time that the charming secret agent will ever be loved.
The major bond girls are listed on Jamesbondwiki, and in my opinion, all the female celebrities have been handpicked for their ability to simultaneously exude overwhelming sexiness and captivating vulnerability. Like, they’re ice-cold, intelligent professional killers who have but one weakness… the Alpha male named Bond, James Bond.
My Favorite Bond Girls and What We Could Learn from Them
Jinx (Halle Berry) – Die Another Day
On her first meeting with Bond, she was aloof. She played along beautifully with Bond’s idle conversation, and i loved how she responded to the barely concealed pick up line.
Bond Girl Tip: Bring a fruit to bed and feed it to him. (You’d better ditch the knife, though).
Elektra King (Sophie Marceau) – The World is Not Enough
She is so evil and deceitful that Bond could’ve killed her on the spot, had she not been so wide-eyed and charming. When Bond finally wasted her, she had the audacity to flash her most innocent look at him and said “you couldn’t”. Surprisingly, Bond hesitated for a second.
Bond Girl Tip: A bowl of ice cubes could complement a very hot situation.
Solitaire (Jane Seymour) – Live and Let Die
She is the beautiful and naive tarot card reader of Kananga who loses her innocence to the charms and deception of 007. There’s nothing very evil about her, in fact, she might even be the most clueless bond girl (followed by Christmas Jones). But she’s on this list because I could relate to her very much.
Bond Girl Tip: Sometimes, the naive girl gets the big guy just by asking him to pick a Tarot card.
Conclusion
- ANYONE can be a Bond Girl, with the right attitude and delivery.
- Be the Bond girl… be mysterious, charming and captivating… even when you’re just holding a soup dish while serving him dinner, or your hair is in disarray because you just woke up.
- C’mon, girl friend, would it kill you to just wink at him before you enter the shower?
