Here’s the background presented by the people who wanted to know how I felt about the topic:

Feminist activists have been concerned with issues such as a woman’s right of contract and property, a woman’s right to bodily integrity and autonomy (especially on matters such as reproductive rights, including the right to abortion, access to contraception and quality prenatal care); for protection from domestic violence; against sexual harassment and rape; for workplace rights, including maternity leave and equal pay; and against other forms of discrimination.

I’ve been called “femi-nazi” many times behind my back and a few times to my face. I am absolutely not offended. In fact am very flattered, because I do have a strong personality and will assert the strength of a woman if needed. I’m glad that people realize that.

See, women are strong.

Even the Divine Provider thought so because He (or She) entrusted the main aspect of the human obligation to propagate to the ladies. We carry the future of our race inside our wombs, control our emotions despite raging hormones and surges of obssession during pregnancy, and we risk our lives to give birth. If that is not big enough to make us rule the universe, or at least have a sacred place in it that is no less than a platform for platitudes and worship, I don’t know what else is.

Women deserve respect, and even the right to control our destinies. While the historical men’s-world views of women as breeding and sex tools dictate that a woman’s ultimate goal is to serve man, a woman may opt to take the leadership role in the society and forego the “natural”. This includes contraception and, yes, even abortion, if the woman chooses so.

We are leaders and servants of the world, but that doesn’t mean we have to be treated like doormats. We rule, period.
