Blogspot: The One-minute Blog
woobie on September 28th, 2007The easiest way to have a blog is to sign up in a blog publisher and simply use the tools available there:
Blogspot. Google’s own blog publishing.
Why it’s great? No need to worry about plug ins and widgets and lay outs. Everything is in a simple menu that you can play around with, including colors, layout and others.
Even the adsense (google) placement is very easy. No need to think too much about placing the script, just get your publisher ID from your google adsense account and voila! There’s a special place in the layout for google ads.
If you prefer to manually place the html codes (example for google analytics or adsense, or any tracking script), there is a simple pop up where you can place the html tags.
Very easy!
The downside? Site name identity. Your site will forever be “<yourname>.blogspot.com”, the same as multitudes of sites in the net that are hosted by blogspot. If this doesn’t matter to you, well and good. Blogspot is the place for you.
However, if you do want your own name, or want to be hosted by a blog site that feels more right for your blog topic (e.g. woobie.pinoygaming.net, because my blog topic is gaming)… then self hosted wordpress is the way to go. I’ll discuss that in a new post.
